Since our seperation and name change we have relocated to the Carrara Stadium complex which we hire along with other sports. We are about to enter are 3rd year known as Magic United but carry with us the history and goals that our club was originally known for.
Our committee is strong and experienced and only this year were we sought after by another club to see if we could bring to them what is a proven record of a club focussed and kids, family , friends and fun.
All coaches must be licensed and qualified to coach as well as hold blue card accreditation. Whilst accreditation is very important this is added to by the fact most of our coaches have also played the game at a senior level and have children as well.
Our senior coach, his assistent and many of the Senior players will be involved with the junior kids at training this year and the kids will be encouraged to attend the senior games both individually and as a guest team at their home games.
Our progressive youth development policy promotes young players into senior soccer as evidenced by our current Premier League Reserve Grade team, having an average age of 19. Colts will also play this year on Saturdays before the premiers and reserves.
We will field teams in ages from under 6 to U 16 and dependant in numbers may have u17,s.
Player development, player improvement, team skills and having fun are the Clubs goals and aims. A journey from Rooball player to Premier League to Representative is always a goal of our Club and its coaching team.
The new premier youth competition for u 12 to u 15 involving approximately 80 kids that have now been identified into the four teams has 22 boys that have been coached and played at our club. We must be doing something right as this equates to 27% overall and we are not a club that encourages or builds super teams by attacking or taking kids from other clubs.
We have excellent fields for our Junors and the Seniors are having their fields upgraded right now.
Referrees are important and form an integrial part of our club and have done since inception. We have a junior referree program involving a mentor and a co ordinator and encourage any child or dad that would like to assist in this area, you are fully supported.
We have just finsihed our small clubhouse and are ready and organised for 2008. If you as a parent want good organisation, quality coaching, good fields, ample parking and a friendly place then we are for you. 200 young kids and their families that have followed us and continue to go out of their way to stay with us would I think confirm what we are saying. We acknowledge and very much appreciate this suport and know its our members that make us known as the family club.
Those that are here already know - and those that will come will find out - that we are exactly what the words say: “Magic” and "United".
