Hi everyone,
Welcome to the final edition of the Magic Minutes.
First  THANK YOU to all the Coaches & Managers the sent reports this year I'm sure the players have enjoyed the read.

Premier League
A MASSIVE effort this year from both Brett and our team. Unlucky to get piped at the post on goal dif. I witnessed some great Football this year and I'm sure all our supporters feel the same. Teams played us this year knowing they had to work hard to get points and often did not. Many times IT ALL WENT QUIET OVER THERE!! and teams left with the sound of WE ALL PLAY FOR THE MAGIC FOOTBALL TEAM ringing in there ears. See you at the players night. hic!!

The Milko Told Me!

Magic United Under 9 Blue  The end of an era.

Well what a season and what a finish. We like all others, played our last game on the weekend and the boys PUT ON A SHOW! the score was too much to not enough (11-0) as we took apart Nearing with some precise passing pushing the ball wide then back into the middle, calls were clear, accurate shooting from the mid fielders and strikers, just all round great team play.

Firstly I would like to make special mention Daniel Hogan had been sick all week and left the field mid way through through the second half unable to continue. Not wanting to leave us short he played the second half in goal and put on a good display. Well done mate great effort.
Other standouts were: Joe Mid field sensation, Steve Sean up front (Sean bagging a nice goal to finish his season) Daniel Batho (Captain) Max (my son) & Joel down the flanks, Luke, Bailey, Sam & Thom all had very solid games at the back  and were responsible for keeping Nearing scoreless. Jarred showed some spark as a midfield defender also having a solid game.

I would like to also make a special mention to STEVE BATHO who has been the team manager since the early days and assisted me greatly in the development of this team and all the things I'm bad at. Thanks Mate.

As a coach I have had most these boys since U6 and watch them improve over the years to become a team that all clubs have strived to beat and most couldent.

Achievements:
So far in 4 seasons we have only lost 6 games
Under 6 Age Champions
Over season U7 - U8 - U9 we enjoyed a 48 game winning streak (lost 1 game this year)
Under 8 were undefeated

This year Goals for 125 - 12 against only lost 1 game (round 3)

Highlights for me this season were Sean's season best 6 goal tally. Every time Max Fitzgerald scored a goal. Daniel Batho as Captain controlling what went on in the game. Joe Knox mid field control was second to none (he plays a age up) and most of all the improvement shown from our new players this year Sam, Luke, Thom, Bailey, Jarred & Joel. Most of all THE TEAMWORK

Big thanks to ALL my parents for getting the boys to training & the games. Hope you all enjoyed the ride we have had.

As I am retiring from coaching this year I am VERY proud of all of you and leave knowing that all the players from our team, who continue in Football, will do so with the right attitude toward all aspects of the game and a clear understanding of what it means to be part of a Club & a Team.

Thanks Again
Mark Fitzgerald
Coach

SEMIS ARE HERE!

I would like to start off by saying a big thanks to everyone who came out to support us last Saturday. For a Reserve Grade fixture there was a lot of sky blue supporting Magic Utd in our attempt to make the top 4. And we did! Palm Beach were top of the league, brimming with confidence and came to knock us out of contention, but things didn't go according to their plan. Much to my satisfaction not only was that the case... but their 3-2 loss to us robbed them of the premiership which I do not at all feel sorry for them one bit.
I haven't had to a lot this season but I was absolutely furious with the boys first 20 minutes. I was serving it up to the lads with all barrells out on the pitch, as we let 2 simple goals in to put us right behind the eight ball at 2 nil down, so early in a "must win" game. Thankfully for the club the players responded positively, and through some good old fashioned hard work and effort we created some luck for ourselves which I was able to capitalise on, and go into half time only 2-1 down. After such a poor start we felt that we got well on top and were very confident in the changing rooms that we could head back out and score another goal or two and secure our finals spot. Remembering that we HAD to draw or win to do so. It was JOE MARTIN who equalised for us shortly after the break following some good lead up work from RON SINGH down the right hand side. I was relieved to get to 2-2 but knew we needed one more to seal it and Palm Beach were crumbling.
They did however throw everything at us and if not for some fantastic work between the posts from keeper RANYLE SINGH things would have been different. I sacrificed two strikers in introducing midfielder CHRIS SLAVEN and young defender ADIS in order to cling on to our title hopes. In doing so we were able to pick up a winning goal through a counter attack move that led to JOE MARTIN scoring his second for the game.
And there you have it. A 3-2 win for Magic against top of the league Palm Beach. Earning us a semi against Burleigh in two weeks time. A seasons worth of work and dramas all forgotten for now as Brett and I look towards firing up the boys in a fortnight. For those of you unaware we only lost 1 game at home this year and 4 all season, which is a magnificent accomplishment for the boys. Well done. I am extremely proud.

Get out and support the Resi's!

LINDSAY.

U10 Blue were VERY unlucky to go down to Mudgeeraba Yellow 0 - 1.

The game had been very even and, after only one slight defensive lapse, Mudgee scored with only 5 minutes to go.
Jack Atkinson had a brilliant game - he passed well, ran into position and got the ball a majority of the time even though he received a fair bit of unwarranted attention from opposition players.
Alex Wild, Harry Rudd and Jaydan Pankhurst worked hard up front and were unlucky not to score on many occasions.

Zac Gibbons worked tirelessly in the midfield.
Alex Poletto and Mitchell Nye were solid in defence and distributed well to our midfielders.
Oscar Carmock covered well in defense.
Jaylan Khatri made some vital saves and covered the goalface well.

Unfortunately, two of our vital defenders, Kaysey Cowdery and Mason Ponton, were sick this week. We hope they recover quickly.

U10 Blue Manager

U10 Blue went down to Burleigh White 8 - 3.

Unfortunately, not our best showing of the season. Our first half was very lacklustre. Fortunately, the boys put in a better performance in the second half.

Our goal scorers were Oscar Carmock, Alex Wild and Zac Gibbons.

Man of the Match went to Alex Poletto.

Under 6 green

Well the team showed up early with smiles for the photos.
Then our concentration went to the game as they all warmed up enthusiastically.
We were playing Nerang who can be very tricky at times.
Gianluca,Cooper and  Reuben started off with some great kicks from the centre and plenty of hardy attacks.
Reuben was strong and dependable down the back as was Cooper.
Bailey had some great runs and attacks. Mick was a little off colour but did his best out there.
Cooper had some great breakaway goals. Reuben and Gianluca played as a team with a corner kick straight in front of goal and Gianluca scored the goal. Training is paying off.
Your coach and i are proud of all the boys improvements keep it up.

Score 7 - 5  to us
Selena
