Hi Everyone,
I just want to start with this comment from one of our clubmen it may help you all to make sense of my gibbering.
"I have played football on the Gold Coast for over 15 seasons now, and I
can honestly say the day the club put on last weekend was one of my
proudest moments. Winning all three grades is a great achievement and I
loved being involved in the occasion. On behalf of the reserves I would
like to thank ALL COMMITTEE AND HELPERS/ SUPPORTERS that made the day
what it was. THANKS EVERYONE!"
Well
what a weekend what a year so far. Ive spoken in the past about Loyalty
but this weekend I witnessed what I truly believe to be a CLUB come of age. Hi everyone and welcome to another installment of Magic Minutes.
I
along with many others watched our 3 Senior teams perform with a
mateship and team spirit seldom seen on the Gold Coast. In the past I
have watched our Premier League Team play Mudgee and often get muscled
out of games only to loose. NOT THIS WEEK we matched and bettered them in all aspects of the game.IT ALL WENT QUIET OVER THERE.
However that said, we know have the big guns to to play in the up coming weeks. Whoops! I forgot WE ARE THE BIG GUNS catch us if you can.....TOP OF THE LEAGUE Keep it up the kids love singing in the sheds after the game. WEZ OR SOMEONE CAN YOU EMAIL ME THE WORDS TO THE CLUB SONG??
Canteen Everyone
please check the list in the club house to see if your team is rostered
for the next home games. Or check with your manager. Please we need
your help.
Under 9-10 Carnival Musgrave

The Day. They have scheduled it for the 18th May which is the day we
are holding our Under 7 Carnival. Well i guess my u9 team wont be there.

Quote of the week. Here is a quote from the Gold Cost Soccer Website post match of Saturdays game.
“It’s
disappointing; that’s our third loss of the season. I thought we were
the better side but we’ve come away with nothing again.” Marc Boelen
WERE WE AT THE SAME GAME?? I really hope you were miss quoted. I'm sure you were.

The Week That Was
Premier league : Magic 3 -
Mudgee 1
Finally we have a fortress.
Our new home ground came up a treat with the great
facilities, big crowd, and entertaining football all adding up to create an
atmosphere that was truly electric. (even match programs)
The boys were determined to put in a good display
in our first home game and in the dressing room before the game there was a very
positive vibe. The game was none stop action from start to finish with 4 yellow
cards in the first 15 minutes, around this time we started to take control of
the game and 2 quick goals to Umet was a reward for some brilliant
football.
At half time with the score still 2-0 we were
confident we could go on with it and win the game. The second half started well
and a nice finish by Matt Olley put the 3 points in our pockets, once again the
boys finished the game strongly and were unlucky not to score 2 more goals, this
is a quality that will be needed against the top teams in the coming
weeks.
Mudgee turned on the spice in the final 15 mins and
had 2 players sent off, i am happy to report no injuries as a
result.
A special mention to Wes Bryett and Umet who
both were outstanding also Luke Muir who was knocked out but still tried to play
on.
Once again thanks to all our growing supporters,
Chikka Edwards (senior director) who has been involved with some great
teams believes the atmosphere and club spirit in the dressing sheds after the
win was the best he has seen in his 20 years.
Cheers
Brett
WHAT A FANTASTIC DAY FOR MAGIC!
The boys from the reserves can hold their heads high after a very good
2-0 win against Mudgee last Saturday. After myself and co-striker Jayde
Flack failed to put the ball in the net I thought we might be in for
another one of "those" games, and admit to feeling frustrated going
into the break 0-0.
However the thing I am most enjoying about coaching this group of
players is their enthusiasm, and never say die attitude. We discussed
working harder to create more options, and enjoying ourselves at half
time...and as we expected the goals did in fact come.
Although goals from substitute midfielders TOM WATSON and CHRIS SLAVEN
respectively gave us the win, it was our defenders and keeper that set
up the victory. JON MARTIN for the second game in a row played very well
and BRAD CASHION combined superior class with a top work rate in the
centre of midfield. Exellent effort boys.
I have played football on the Gold Coast for over 15 seasons now, and I
can honestly say the day the club put on last weekend was one of my
proudest moments. Winning all three grades is a great achievement and I
loved being involved in the occasion. On behalf of the reserves I would

Get out and support the resis,

Under 10 Federation Carnival – Runaway Bay
Sunday 4th May
The day started at 8:30 am (no sleep in)
with our first game at
9:00 am against Nerang. Our team were still half asleep, one person
short and Brittany with a sore ankle. We tried hard but went down 1-0.
A few hasty phone calls and we had a full team with two reserves
for the rest of the day. Thanks to Aidan and Tim and families for
interrupting your weekend plans and jumping in to help us all out.
10:00 am found us playing Pacific Pines. Our team fired up ready to go and Magic cleaned up 6-0!! The same fantastic score against Bilambil in the next game and we
lost count of all the goal scorers. I could not forget one where Jayden
scored a magic goal with a curve ball from corner. Well done! Our last game of the round at lunchtime against the unbeaten
Mudgee was tough. However Magic played their best game of the day and
won 3-0. Great team effort!
We were into the quarter finals from a field of twenty teams.
We were all ecstatic and already proud of our achievement for the day.
The quarter final against Surfers was a real challenge. Trent was
doing great things in goal and it was 0-0 at half time. Back on the
field after the short break and our specialist defender Ashleigh let
rip with "The Boot" from half way. It almost disappeared in the air and
then slipped neatly into goal just under the bar. Her father, James did
a jig on field and we all roared with congratulation. Ash's first goal
of the year.
Into the semi finals against Tugun
Tugun had not lost a game all day and our team were getting tired and it showed. We fought hard but lost the game. Jayden was injured near the end of the game after putting in a big
effort all day. We all hope you are feeling better now buddy. The kids playing were - from U10Red Ashleigh, Aidan, Attila,
Brittany, Khan, Robert,Trent, Tim, From U10Green Jayden, From U10Blue
Kasey, Harry.
A Magic day out for us all and we were all happy
to be heading home about 2 pm. Aidan and Tim stayed for the final to
watch Tugan V Runaway Bay. A great game to watch with Runaway Bay
winning 2-0
Thanks to all parents for your support and thanks to Runaway Bay FC for putting on a great carnival, really well organised.

U12 Div 1 V Palm Beach After coming off a great win last
weekend against Mudgeeraba (8-0) the boys were set for Palm Beach. This match
was a step by step win..every 10-15minutes we scored a goal and wore Palm Beach
down. Goals from JK, Jimmy and Connor as well as good work from Danny and
Liam in defence. Curtis and Mitchell in midfield worked hard taking
control for good periods of the game. Juanluca work well in the 2nd half
and good keeping from Ben kept the opposition scoreless and kept us top of
the table Magic 4 Palm Beach 0
